Timesheet Refresher

Timesheet Refresher

Being new to verifying timesheets and with the addition of multiple new staff, I thought it might be helpful to review tips for completing timesheets.

As soon as you receive a new timesheet, please

sign and date it in ink

enter all hours for the entire pay period in pencil

enter your time in and time out for each day you work

enter the day’s Regular Hours Worked in the top row

enter any PTO on the appropriate row

enter a total for each column

enter a total for each row

make sure that the last column’s total and the bottom row’s totals are equal

make sure a PAR is completed and filed for any scheduled or non-scheduled PTO taken

make sure that When to Work accurately reflects your hours worked for the entire pay period (if not, notify your supervisor)

place your completed time sheet in the orange folder on the file cabinet outside of Eric’s office.

Prior to the end of the pay period remember to update your timesheet with any changes or send me an email with changes – I want to make sure you get paid properly.

I plan to follow the same schedule as Missy, timesheets are due by the Wednesday prior to the end of the pay period.  This allows me to work on them on Thursday/Friday.

However, there may be pay periods where I need your timesheet earlier.  For example, the current pay period started Sunday, October 4 and ends Saturday, October 17.  I will be out of the office on Thursday and Friday, October 15 and 16, and would like your completed and signed timesheet and any related PARS turned in by 8 pm Tuesday October 13.

I’m learning as are you, so don’t hesitate to bring a discrepancy to my attention or ask if something doesn’t make sense.

Thanks!
