NORTHWEST POLK COUNTY RESIDENTS’ CHOICE FAVORITES IN JOHNSTON
Each year, residents within Northwest Polk County get the opportunity to vote on their favorite businesses and amenities within the communities located in northwest Polk County.
This year, the Johnston Public Library received the ‘Resident’s Choice Award,’ and Terra Park was the ‘runner-up’ in several categories.
Favorite Northwest Polk County Library
- Johnston Public Library (Runners up were Grimes Public Library and Urbandale Public Library)
Terra Park received ‘Runner-up’ in the following categories:
- Favorite Northwest Polk County Place to Take Kids or Grandkids
- Favorite Northwest Polk County Dad/Child Date Spot
- Favorite Northwest Polk County Park
- Favorite Northwest Polk County Picnic Spot
“We are certainly proud of Terra Park and the enjoyment families receive when visiting the space,” said Johnston Schmitz, Parks & Recreation Director. “Receiving ‘runner up’ in four categories is undoubtedly something our community should be proud of. Our Parks & Recreation crews work hard throughout the year to maintain the amenities and facilities that are located in each of our 11 parks.”
This year has been a difficult one for most of us. But the Johnston Public Library has excelled at providing online resources and information for patrons. The dedicated service and offerings are why the library was voted the Favorite Northwest Polk County Library.
“Continuing to provide access to library collections and technology and offer programming for all ages throughout the COVID-19 pandemic has been a priority for us,” said Eric Melton Library Director. “We’re honored and excited about this recognition of the hard work and innovation of library staff and the value the Johnston community places on library services.”
