Adam Ostert joined the City of Johnston as the Building Official on Monday, Aug. 16. Adam has been with the City of Ames for the last 10 years as an inspector, plans examiner and most recently as the Assistant Building Official. Prior to Ames, Adam spent 12 years as a master electrician. Adam has a bachelor’s degree from Iowa State and currently resides in Madrid, where he serves on their Planning and Zoning Commission. >> Read more
Josh Kennedy joined the Johnston Police Department as the new Community Affairs Coordinator. Josh has lived in the Greater Des Moines Area for 20 years. He worked with the Johnston Community School District for the past 14 years and Woodward Academy as a Youth Counselor. In that time, Josh has had the unique opportunity to see families from both the Juvenile Justice and Education System’s perspectives. >> Read more
Rose Hebron started as the Youth Services Assistant Librarian on August 9th. Rose came to the Johnston Public Library from the Carlisle Public Library. Her previous experience includes running education programs for the Animal Rescue League. Rose graduated with a Master’s degree in Leadership Development from Drake University in 2019 and from Grandview university with a degree in Human Services in 2017.
