Saturday June 21 (Green Days) at the Library
Just a reminder that while the Library will not be open for regular service on Saturday June 21, all staff will still be working their regular schedules that day as we will be helping with the Green Days crafts from 12:00-5:00. Staff should come in at your regularly scheduled time and work on your regularly assigned activities until such time as you might be needed in the meeting room. Circulation staff should empty the book drop and begin check in (Dreama will give you instruction about the handling of holds).

Filming at the library tonight (Monday)
Tonight at 6:15 at the library Emily Price will be interviewing Councilman Clabaugh for his part of our “Get to know your city council” video. They will not be filming patrons.
June Book Displays
Hi All,
June book displays have all been updated. Here’s the scoop:
By Circ we have D-Day and Road Trip Reads.
(Road trip reads contains audiobooks and books; both are primarily travelogues.)
The Main display in front of Reference contains books that deal with adult programs, i.e. stargazing, bee keeping, crockpot cookbooks, homebrewing, and Doctor Who.
The main display back by the new arrivals is a two-parter. This display has popular science nonfiction and sciencefiction books and movies.
The book display back by the cookbooks has summer cooking and preserving, i.e. barbeque, grilling, picnics and canning and preserving.
Ask Beth if you have questions.
Tornado Warning and Watch Procedures
A copy of the procedures for tornado warnings and watches has been placed temporarily at the checkout desk for staff to review. It is also linked below.
Possibility of Severe Weather Tues-Wed.
There is a chance that severe weather could impact our area on Tuesday Evening and into Wednesday. The National Weather Service has provided a video briefing that summarizes the extent of this storm prediction.

YA Section
By tomorrow evening (Saturday, May 31), the YA collection will have shifted. The YA PB section will no longer be on the left side of the library. YA PB will be the last shelving unit that faces the windows on the right side. It will follow after the YA Fiction collection.
Shelving Schedules
Starting today (sort of) I am going to try and stick to the “Week One” – Wednesday. Schedules are linked on the left – in the sidebars.
Obviously, when we are closed, overwhelmed, etc. things can shift and will need to shift. However, this is a “skeleton” of a schedule to follow that will hopefully guide all of you and our shelvers in knowing what to cart up, etc. Like I stated, this is a schedule, but like all things, it can “go with the flow.”
Let me know if you have any questions.
THanks,
Cheryl
Timesheets are due!
Timesheets are due today, Wednesday, May 28.
Summer Reading Kicks Off
Thought you might be interested in a synopsis of yesterday’s activity:
1,691 items checked in; 2,134 items checked out; 18 new patrons registered; 247 kids & teens and 18 adults signed up for Summer Reading. All of this and a power outage that forced a temporary closing of the library. Way to go!
Maurine
Pre-shelving
I relabeld the pre-shelving shelves. All audiobooks go to the left…I labeled everything.
If you have questions, feel free to ask.
Thanks!
Cheryl
Processing box cutter
The yellow & black box cutter is missing from the drawer in the processing counter/cabinet. If you find it lying around somewhere, please return it to the drawer for us.
Many Thanks!
Jo

The library now has two subscriptions to Consumer Reports. The issues on display in the magazine area may be checked out to patrons while the issues behind the circ desk will have green stickers on them to remind us they are for “In house use only”.
Thank you.
