The circulation desk will now be the only public desk with a physical manual of library policies. Staff can access the latest policy manual via the Intranet under the “Printables” menu.
Maurine’s Retirement
Maurine has asked me to announce her retirement effective July 7, 2015. In her letter to me, Maurine writes, “While I will miss the daily association with staff and patrons, I’m looking forward to life’s next great adventure and pursuing those many ‘someday’ plans”. If you’re interested in helping plan a celebration of Maurine’s immeasurable contributions to the library please see Cheryl H.

History Project
I’m working on a 3-D historical project of sorts…and am in need of some help.
Any t-shirts that you may have from past summer reading programs, city t-shirts, city events, etc. would be most appreciated. I need these by Friday, May 8th.
Materials will be donated and not returned.
Thanks 🙂 Cheryl

Free Lunches This Summer
This summer the library will be a site for an organization that serves free lunches to kids each weekday. They will be using tables in the area formerly known as the “Shade Structure”. The organizers will be responsible for setup and cleanup.
Timesheets are due!
Hello,
Please turn in your timesheet today, Wednesday, March 18.

Powerpoint remote / laser pointer in 2nd office
A Powerpoint remote/laser pointer is now in the equipment cupboard in the second office. It can be used by staff and the public.
Re-categorization of Adult, Large Print and CD Book Fiction collections
We are beginning a re-categorization project of the Adult, Large Print and CD Book Fiction collections and going forward, all items will be labeled F regardless of their subject genre (Mystery, Science Fiction, Western, etc.). Tech Services will be changing call numbers and relabeling book spines as time permits so you may find large chunks of a Fiction collection pulled from the shelf. If you encounter a block of empty space when shelving in one of these Fiction areas, please do not shift into the empty space as items will soon be returned to that space.
Items pulled from the shelf will have a Polaris Circulation Status of ‘Cataloging’. Once processing is completed and items are ready for checkout, the Circulation Status will be changed back to ‘In’ and items given to the Circ Staff for re-shelving.
Concrete work
The library concrete replacement project will begin Thursday morning. Nieto’s Concrete will remove several panels on the front and west sides of the building. The holes will be marked with caution tape and left open to dry over the weekend. They will pour replacement concrete on Monday and Tuesday. Part of this project involves replacing the concrete outside the staff entrance. While the staff entrance is inaccessible, opening staff can enter through the west-most commons door. A security keypad is attached to the red commons wall.
Timesheets!

Adult/Juvenile Patron Codes
In order to more easily limit the circulation of Learning Tools to patrons older than 14, patrons 14 and older will now be assigned a patron code of Adult. Patrons younger than 14 will be assigned a patron code of Juvenile. This changes our practice of marking patrons Adults only when they reach 18.
In addition, a nightly process will change accounts to Adult as patrons turn 14.
The Great Cookie Order Mystery
Hi everyone!
Someone placed an order for 4 boxes of Girl Scout cookies but did not write their name on the order sheet. If you are the mystery cookie orderer, I have your cookies. Let me know who you are and I will give them to you. 🙂
Thanks,
Jessica
