Building Troubleshooting Trick – Money Cabinet Lock
Here is a little trick that I have learned the hard way – When the locked money cabinet key is not wanting to turn – firmly push in all the drawers below the cabinet. I’m not sure why exactly, but the lock will not turn if the drawers are not firmly closed.
If the lock is still wonky – you can just put the money in the cabinet without locking it and leave a note on the buildingmaintenance Slack channel for staff the next day.
Time Sheets Due Early
I won’t be in the office beginning Friday so I need to get time sheets done before vacation, hence the need to have them early on Thursday. Thanks!
Time Sheets Due Thursday by Noon
This is my Friday off, so I’ll need to work on timesheets while I’m in the library Thursday afternoon. Thanks!
West Patio Update
The shade installers are currently creating footings for the shade structure. Once the footings are in and have cured, they’ll install the structures legs. Once that’s done, the concrete company will come back to pour the patio. It may be up to two weeks before the patio is reopened.
Fire Sprinkler Inspection
The fire sprinkler inspector is here. You will hear beeps and/or alarms which you can ignore.
Concrete Work Next Week
Repairs to the concrete along the front of the library and in the parking lot will begin next week. Each repair is relatively small so there shouldn’t be too much disruption of parking or foot traffic.
Commons Door
The second to last Commons exit door is stuck. Someone from Walsh will be coming to look at it. They typically don’t give us notice before they come. If Molly or I are not available, please point them to the Commons.
Concrete
Due to the cold temps, the concrete work is being postponed until the spring.
