New Missing Part Check-In Form
We have updated the missing part check-in form. It is now a yellow flag. You should find the flags at the check-in desks. Thanks.
Drive-up Book Drop
Just a quick reminder that if you are emptying the drive-up book drop, you need to check under the cart for books and other items. The book drop has a space along the edges that allows thin items to fall below. Sometimes these items are caught along the bottom edge of the cart that you can’t see. Recently we found five items that were stuck. Two of the books were already coded lost and another had been coded claimed returned. You can lay the cart on it’s side(ask someone for help if you need it); you can use a cell phone light to look underneath; or use your hand to carefully check if something is stuck underneath. Let me know if you have any questions.

Presidential Candidate Visit at the Simpson Barn, July 6, 2023
This is a heads up from Nate O. at Parks and Rec. Tomorrow a Presidential candidate will be meeting the public at the Simpson Barn. A group is coming to protest also. They are allowed to protest but not block any entrances. If you have any questions or concerns, please check with Molly.
YA Pre-shelving Changes
Starting today we will be pre-shelving the YA Fiction and Graphic Novels on the narrow shelving on the wall where the CD cases used to be (next to where the check-in desk used to be). We will not be shelving YA directly to the cart.
How to handle damaged items at checkin
Review returned materials for damages
- Disregard normal wear and tear that does not prevent someone from reading, listening to, or viewing the item. If uncertain, check in the item, update the circulation status to “in repair” and place on the repair shelf.
- If an item appears damaged (i.e. dog chewed, major tears, stained), check it in, update the circulation status to “in repair” and place the item on the repair shelf.
- If an item is wet or moist or disgusting, check it in, update the circulation status to “in repair” place in a plastic bag on the repair shelf.
- The repair staff will take care of billing and repair.
