Desk Stats
Beginning in July, we will collect desk stats via the Intranet rather than with the paper forms currently located at each desk. On the Intranet, you should now see an overlay in the bottom right corner. Please take a look at the “help” document accessible via the red link above the top right corner of the overlay. I’m looking for feedback on functionality at this point–let me know what you think about how it works. We will discuss definitions of the four categories (which are quite different than those we currently use) at the June staff meeting.
Office Supplies
I will be taking over office supply ordering (at least temporarily) in the new fiscal year. If you have office supply needs or see that something has run out or is running low, please let me know.
Kitchen Cleanup and First Aid
To make this message easier to access, I’m posting to the Intranet as well as the email you already received.
It’s time for the semi-annual staff kitchen clean-up. Although, this time it should be pretty easy.
To make the First Aid Kit and Safety poster more visible and accessible to staff and volunteers, they have been moved from the staff kitchen to the workroom. The First Aid Kit is now in the drawer immediately to the LEFT of the workroom sink and the safety poster is above the sink.
Everyone has been doing a great job of marking their items and taking care of them as needed – thank you. Thus, this semi-annual cleanup should be a snap. I will be cleaning the kitchen area on Wednesday, June 10th, so please take care of whatever you need to by June 9th.
Here’s what I won’t be doing:
1. messing with anyone’s basket or shelf – I’m leaving that up to you to take care of
2. throwing away anything with someone’s name on it – again, I’m leaving that up to you
Here’s what I will be doing:
1. searching through the refrigerator and freezer for unmarked food items that are past their prime and throwing them away
2. looking through the shelves that hold items for ALL of us and throwing away expired, broken, or damaged items, etc.
3. removing any containers from the refrigerator that are not marked with a staff person’s name, cleaning them and setting them on the counter for the owner to handle
4. cleaning up the refrigerator, counter tops, tops of cupboards, vacuuming, etc. – basically just making everything look clean and tidy.
Thanks,
Peg

Staff Meeting Reminder
Our staff meeting will be held this Thursday at 8am. In addition to our regular round of news, we will have our annual volunteer brunch.
Volunteer Brunch
No, Jo is NOT bringing hummus.
I wrote “hmmm”. I am bringing more fresh fruit to compliment Kinney’s fruit. And a fruit dip.
Random stuff needed!
Hello all!
I am in need of some random items for teen programming this summer…
I am going to try to create a life-sized Jenga game. For this, I need many, many 12 pack pop boxes — preferably mostly unripped.
I also need large pieces of cardboard — at least 5 feet tall. I’m going to try to make giant bowling pins!
If you happen to have any of this stuff, please share the love and bring it to the library!!
Thanks very much!
Jessica
