What Type of ID Do I Need to Vote and Other Early Voting Questions

Hey All,

I know all of us have been fielding a lot of voting question phone calls. Here is some additional information to fill in some of the gaps:

  • Anyone who lives in Polk County is able to vote at any Polk County satellite voting location. If Johnston is not their district, more than likely they will be casting their ballot electronically.
  • Most registered voters will not be asked to show ID. There are possible exceptions to this and more info can be found here at Vote411: http://www.vote411.org/search-by-topic?topics_tid%5B%5D=58&field_state_tid%5B%5D=16#.WAZSgWYrKUl
  • Non-registered voters can register on the day of and vote at a satellite location. Non-registered voters will be asked to provide photo ID and proof of address. Again, details can be found here at Vote 411: http://www.vote411.org/search-by-topic?topics_tid%5B%5D=58&field_state_tid%5B%5D=16#.WAZSgWYrKUl
  • Voters who are changing their address will  be asked to verbally provide their new address.
